First Week Jitters

Ethan was picked up this morning by school bus for his third day back at school. That’s right. Back to school.
For now he will attend three mornings a week, along with his two days of outpatient therapies. Based on the first few days, he has adjusted well to being in the school building and it seems to be providing excellent sensory input for him. Last week an assembly was held for the students and a school liaison from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital updated them on Ethan’s current medical challenges and about his return to school. She did an excellent job of preparing the kids, and already Ethan has had daily visits from friends who are thrilled to have him back. We couldn’t be more grateful to the Loveland City Schools

and the way they have provided support and encouragement on this next step in Ethan’s journey. Of course, for his parents, this week has come with nervous jitters and cautious optimism. Hearing from Ethan’s teachers and nurses, our trepidation has subsided as the week has progressed.

Wishing a Shabbat Shalom,
Alexia and Scott
