Yes, I’m his mother.

No, I haven’t been out of the country in the past 30 days.

That is what I am programmed to say at every appointment, every hospitalization, every x-ray. Sometimes I feel like a robot answering these questions time and time again. I think I’m going to have a t-shirt made so I don’t have to keep repeating myself.

We are back in the hospital. It started Friday morning as the same bad dream, with a possible bowel obstruction, but we are 36 hours in and haven’t been wheeled to surgery…yet.

The doctors are monitoring Ethan closely and trying to give his GI system a break to see if the “issues” will resolve themselves with a little time. We are keeping him comfortable and praying for a hospitalization without surgery. We will wait and see.
